WE'RE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE COLD THRILL

We are the two founders of NORDBAEK, Barbara and Ida, and we love bathing together all year round — and generally being out in nature, following the changing seasons.

Our story began on a cold, windy winter day in 2017 on the north beach in Vedbæk, when we went down to bathe. Large icicles hung from the bathing pier, and it was bitterly cold.

As so many times before, we talked about the need for a nice, warm and, above all, windproof robe to wrap ourselves in when we got out of the water. We tested our ideas on many other winter bathers and discovered through the design process and several prototypes our popular features: mitts to pull over the hands, magnetic closures that can be fastened even with the coldest fingers, plus extra length and a snug hood.

We also found out that it isn9t the water that makes us cold when we bathe or are out in nature — it9s the wind!

That is why we put many hours into developing our unique Thermo-Quilt, which is windproof with optional fleece or cotton terry on the inside, and in August 2017 we decided to turn the dream into reality and embark on an exciting new adventure together.

The name NORDBAEK came to us after countless brainstorming sessions on our beach :) and is a contraction of NORDstranden and vedBAEK, which is exactly the beach from which we bathe year-round — together and with our friends and families.

NORDBAEK was born and we hope you can feel the love we put into each product and in our communication with you, our dear followers.
