NORDBAEK grew out of a love for life by the water – year-round. From cold dips, fresh sea air and the desire for something warm to put on before and after the chilly plunge. Today NORDBAEK has evolved and embraces life under open skies, from forest paths to mountain peaks, from bike rides to kayak trips — with the wind in the sails and for quiet moments in nature.
NORDBAEK was created with the desire to develop thoughtful designs for life by the water - and under the open sky.
With a focus on quality, functionality and comfort, we design products that keep you warm and protected - even when the wind bites and the cold sets in.
Barbara, who now heads NORDBAEK, has a strong sense for materials, details, and functional solutions that make life easier in the cold and by the water.
NORDBAEK's products are designed by us in Denmark and often stem from ideas we develop and test in small user groups made up of like-minded people who also love life under the open sky.
Why are we called NORDBAEK?
NORDBAEK was founded in 2017 by Barbara and Ida, who together took the first cold dips and came up with the idea for the brand. Ida is co-founder and an indispensable part of the story behind NORDBAEK.
This photo was taken on Nordstranden in Vedbæk, where Barbara and Ida are seen in the icy shallows – exactly where it all began.
The name NORDBAEK is a contraction of NORDstranden and VedBAEK – the beach where many cold sea swims, good conversations and the first thoughts about NORDBAEK arose.
