Should I choose fleece or terry cloth?
At NORDBAEK all our products are created from the same starting point: life by the water.
Our robes share the same windproof Thermo-Quilt outer shell – but the interior is available in either fleece or cotton terry.
The choice isn't about right or wrong.
It's about how you use your robe – and what feels best for you.
Here's our guide:
Fleece
For those who want to stay warm longer
Fleece is for those who want to linger in that warm feeling a little longer.
After you've dried off, fleece keeps you warm—for a long time.
The material doesn't absorb water but instead insulates.
That means you can comfortably take a break by the water with a cup of coffee in hand while your body settles again.
The windproof shell combined with the soft fleece lining retains heat and protects against the wind.
Benefits of fleece:
- Keeps you warm for hours
- Lightweight and easy to carry
- Perfect for breaks, relaxation, and slow moments
Remember: With fleece, you should use a towel first.
The robes with fleece are called Windy Ocean
Terry cloth
For those who want to dry off and get warm right away
Terry cloth works like a towel you put on.
It absorbs the water from your skin and helps you quickly go from wet to warm.
It's the choice for those who jump straight from the water into the robe – with no intermediate step.
The soft OEKO-TEX cotton terry feels natural against the skin and gives a reassuring, enveloping sensation.
Benefits of terry cloth:
- Dries you immediately
- No need for a towel
- Soft, natural, and comfortable against the skin
Note: The robe may feel slightly damp after use—because it has absorbed water from your skin.
The robes with fleece are called Soft Breeze

The difference – in short
- Fleece: Retains heat (after you're dry)
- Terry cloth: Absorbs water (right after a swim)
Both are windproof.
Both are made for life by the water.
What should you choose?
Choose fleece if you:
– want to stay out longer
– want the thermo effect
– prioritize warmth over drying
Choose terry cloth if you:
– want to get straight into the robe
– want to dry quickly
– prefer the feel of cotton against the skin
We hope this makes your choice easier.
Otherwise, you are always welcome to write to us at help@nordbaek.com.
Best regards from
